Agenitor - Established technology with highest degree of efficiency

 

In addition to all of the 2G-KWK-Series benefits, the agenitor comes with an optimized degree of efficiency - currently the highest on the market! Because of this increased efficiency, more electricity can be fed into the grid, thus the total compensation for the customer increases significantly. Agenitor 406 Biogas- a further increase of efficiency

 

At the Hannover Messe 2012 2G introduces the latest six-cylinder engine from the agenitor product line which is the "agenitor 406" with 250 kW of electrical power for operation with natural gas and biogas. The module comes along with an electrical efficiency of 42.5%, thus setting new standards in gas engine technology in this power range. Compared to the predecessor “agenitor 306”, already known as the “efficiency leader”, 2G again sets a clear trend in the (CHP) market.

 

The gas engine’s design of the “agenitor 406” has been in the making for the past two and a half years at the corporation’s development subsidiary 2G Drives GmbH. The module takes advantage of the 4-valve technology, allowing a better gas exchange; hence the combustion becomes more efficient. Furthermore, the module is equipped with powerful steel pistons to reduce friction and heat losses during the combustion process.

 

The “agenitor 406” is currently in the engine test stage and operates successfully at selected trial clients. By the middle of 2012, a pre-series will be installed at various locations throughout Germany in order to gain mare valuable experience for the global launch in 2013.
